Rob has served as a member of our board of directors since March 2013. An industry veteran with extensive experience in the technology sector and intimate knowledge of how to grow market-leading businesses, Rob brings valuable operational expertise to ServiceSource as the former chief executive officer of a successful technology company.
Rob was most recently General Manager of Business Analytics at IBM, a position from which he retired in March 2012. Prior to that, Rob was President, Chief Executive Officer and Director of Cognos, a business intelligence and performance management company. He worked at Cognos from 1984 until 2008 when Cognos was acquired by IBM.
He is a member of the board of MSCI Inc., a provider of investment decision support tools, as well as Halogen Software Inc., a human capital management company. He holds Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting from University of Ottawa and is also a Chartered Accountant in Canada.
Steven Cakebread joined the ServiceSource Board of Directors in February 2010. A highly regarded leader of the Software as a Service (SaaS) market, Cakebread's expertise will be invaluable to ServiceSource as the Company introduces new technology-based solutions to accelerate market share and revenue growth. Cakebread served as Salesforce.com's Chief Financial Officer for six years and led the Company through its initial public offering. Prior to Salesforce.com, Cakebread served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Autodesk, where he was responsible for all of the Company's accounting and corporate finance functions. Before Autodesk, Cakebread was Vice President of Finance for Silicon Graphics, where he managed accounting and finance, information systems, and global sales and service administration. He began his career in global high technology operations with Hewlett Packard, where he held several key management positions. Cakebread serves on the Solarwinds and eHealth boards of directors. Cakebread holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California at Berkeley and an MBA from Indiana University.
Jim Madden is the Founder and Managing Partner of Madden Capital Partners, LLC. Previously, Jim was the Founder, Chairman and CEO of Exult, Inc., the innovator and market leader in human resources business process outsourcing for Global 500 corporations. In five years, Exult became the most widely recognized HR processing company in the world, growing from a start-up to over $500 million in revenue with over 2,000 employees. Exult operated centers around the globe and provided payroll and HR services to more than 750,000 client employees with $20 billion in annual employee payments. Major clients included BP, Bank of America, International Paper and Prudential Financial.
After merging Exult into Hewitt in late 2004, Jim became a Special Advisor with General Atlantic, a leading private equity firm. In 2007, Jim became a Partner at Accretive Technology Partners, a private equity firm differentiated by its unique approach to building companies that provide sustainable value to clients. Jim remains a Special Advisor to Accretive.
Prior to Exult, Jim served in a variety of technology services leadership positions including President of the US and International unit of MCI Systemhouse and as a Principal at the management consulting firm Booz-Allen & Hamilton. He began his career with Andersen Consulting (now Accenture).
Jim serves on the Board of Directors of Accolade, a unique health care services firm; AlphaStaff, a leading HR services firm; Genpact, a global business services firm; and ServiceSource, the innovator and leader in technology maintenance sales. Jim is the past Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Hoag Hospital Foundation. He is also a member of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO). Jim has a BBA in Finance and a BA in Geology, summa cum laude from Southern Methodist University. Jim also attended the Webb Institute of Naval Architecture.
Tom Mendoza currently serves as vice chairman of NetApp, helping customers, partners, and sales teams realize maximum value. Mendoza joined NetApp in 1994 as the head of North American Sales and later served as the company's president from 2000 until 2008. He joined the ServiceSource board of directors in February 2011.
Mendoza has been the keynote speaker for such diverse organizations as Symantec, CIO forums in multiple cities, the U.S. Marine Corps, and West Point. Mendoza was co-recipient of the 2009 Morgan Stanley Leadership Award for Global Commerce. This award is part of the Computerworld Honors Leadership Awards that are presented annually to individuals who have been instrumental in revolutionizing the use of information technology.
Mendoza holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from the University of Notre Dame, is an alumnus of Stanford University's Executive Business Program, and is a guest lecturer at both institutions. In September 2000, the University of Notre Dame renamed its business school the Mendoza College of Business upon an endowment from Tom and his wife, Kathy.
Barry is a managing director of Housatonic Partners, a private equity investment firm with over $1 billion in capital under management. Housatonic Partners invests in growing, profitable companies in the recurring services, media and communications industries. Prior experience includes private equity groups Bain Capital, Texas Pacific Group and Trident Capital and Bain & Company where he co-founded the Principal Investor Services practice. In addition to serving on the ServiceSource board of directors, Barry is a director of Aegis Treatment Centers, LeadQual, Onsite Heath, ProService Hawaii, and Registria Customer Experience. Barry is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley and the Stanford Graduate School of Business, where he was a Ford Scholar.
